About: In 2000, a 4-year-old cancer patient named Alex decided to open a lemonade stand to raise money to help “her doctors” find a cure for all kids with cancer. Alex reopened her front yard stand every year and reached her goal of raising $1 million shortly before she passed away in August 2004. Today, that one stand has transformed into Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that has raised more than $25 million to continue Alex’s mission.
Take Action: There are many ways to support this cause including, holding your own stand, volunteering, and printing/designing your own mini stand to collect funds at home or at work.
